God works in his own time. Just be patient, it will all work out.
Yes, yes, these things I know to be true. But in the past week I found myself in a place where all I could do was cry out, “What are you doing?? Are you doing ANYTHING?” It felt like doors were slamming in my face left and right and I was getting a headache from it all.
In my life right now I face a lot of unknowns. Lots and lots of them. Where am I going to live and where am I going to work are currently two of the biggest one. If I let myself, I can easily get overwhelmed by it all. The unknown can be daunting and scary because most likely the unknowns are out of your control.
But Jesus is bigger than the unknowns.
It’s in those moments that I find myself grasping for anything solid to hold on to that suddenly I remember that the only solid ground I have is Jesus. Because the reality is that if I try to stand on anything else, it will crumble and fall to a million pieces, and that’s when I remember that Jesus is the only solid ground I want.
It’s been in the midst of my struggle to trust that He has lovingly met me and shown me His faithfulness. Because you guys, He is ALWAYS faithful. Always. But there are times when I lose sight of that truth in the middle of all that is around me.
I’m a bit overwhelmed as I write, but in the best way possible: I’m overwhelmed with joy and I have been reminded of His faithfulness and provision. The chaos of the past week is settling and in the stillness of the moment, I am feeling the peace of God cover me. Are all of the unknowns now known? No, definitely not. Am I reminded and acutely aware that He will provide a way and direct my steps? Absolutely. I see His light breaking through those dark, looming clouds, and I’m continually reminded that I am not alone.
If you’re currently finding yourself in a situation where you just don’t know what else to do, doors keep slamming closed in your face, and you just need Jesus, here are some words that are far more powerful than mine to lift your spirit and encourage your heart. These have been a comfort to me in recent days, and in past ones as well. Be encouraged, Beloved.
No matter how many questions and unknowns you face, Jesus being by your side isn’t one of them.
